Before entering the AIL sequence, you should be able to:

• Accurate solution preparation in a reasonable time period

• Use distillation for purification.
• Use recrystallization for purification.
• Use sublimation for purification.
• Checking/paying attention to reagents: preparation of chemicals (cleaning, testing for purity or even correct chemical).
• Read labels carefully. Practical naming issues.

• Drying of solvents or reagents
• Rotovap techniques
• Use TLC to assess purity of a sample or reaction mixture (choose correct solvent mixture to separate two spots)

• Incomes from Chem 2215: Independently run instruments using lab notebook. Save the notebook and bring it into AIL.
